S1E41 - The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast – Episode 41

Episode 41 of The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast.

Welcome to another episode of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast. On this week’s episode:

  • News

In this week’s news: UK wrestling scene (Welsh Wrestling, 5 Star Wrestling, ICW, Progress); Jimmy Snuka’s death, the possible return of HBK?; the latest edition of Angle-Watch; Hall of Fame rumours suggest Teddy Long; the future WWE Women’s Tournament; Royal Rumble 2017 predictions; and the latest on the recent TNA streaming app.

  • WWE UK Championship Tournament

The Fallen Angel had internet trouble this week, so he hasn’t watched the full UK Tournament. Shame that, because The Real Deal and Old Man Joey have. What did we think of it? Now there’s a good question.

  • This Week’s Favourite Thing

A new feature. What is our favourite thing that happened or we encountered in wrestling this week? Iron Sheik, Mickie James and Renee Young all get a mention.

  • WWE Story Time

The Real Deal has been watching Story Time, the animated show on the WWE Network. Hear his thoughts.

S1E40 - The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast – Episode 40

Episode 40 of The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast.

It’s a new year, yes it is, and the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast is back with more banter. The show that bills itself as the UK wrestling fan’s survival guide. Or something.

Yeah, that intro kind of fizzled out, didn’t it?

But fear not, my friends, because this week’s episode is perhaps the best yet. Join The Real Deal, The Fallen Angel and Old Man Joey for their regular weekly rambling:

  • News

Lots of news coverage and discussion this week. Ironic given that we didn’t think we’d have much to talk about…

Topics include: Jimmy Snuka; Mickey James; WWE Hall of Fame 2017 rumours, TNA’s recent buyout and the return of the original Double J; this week’s Raw and Smackdown; and a brief piece about a London fetish gym. Yeah…

  • World of Sport – Wrestling recap

The pilot episode broadcast on New Year’s Eve here in the UK.

  • TNA’s new streaming app

We won’t lie – WWE Network has nothing to worry about just yet.

  • 2017 Predictions

Who will be the breakout star in 2017? What resolutions do we want WWE to follow this year?

S1E39 - The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast – Episode 39

Episode 39 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast.

From everyone at the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast, please accept our warmest wishes this holiday season.

But what's on this week's episode? It is our first annual End of Year Awards show.

For the full list of categories and winners, click here. Expect the usual amount of banter between The Real Deal, The Festive Angel (I see what he did there) and Old Man Joey.

Plus! There is the Secret Santa gift giving, where in Triple Threat/Round Robin style a gift was purchased for each of us by one of the others. It goes exactly as you thought it would.

S1E38 - The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast – Episode 38

Episode 38 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast.

It's the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast's go-home show for the year as we wrap up as best we can before our special End of Year Awards show next week. On this episode:

  • News

WWE have introduced a UK title, with plans to launch a regional, weekly show. Good news for us UK fans

ITV's World of Sport is set to debut soon. Interesting timing on WWE's part, don't you think?

And finally - Scott Hall's Christmas Tree. Go see his Twitter feed. And what is on his television.

  • Fatally Flawed Way

In our fantasy match for the ages, it's Eva Marie vs Nikki "Nikolai" Bella vs Brie Bella vs Dana Brooke. Electrifying.

  • Manager of Choice

Two rounds this week. If we were professional wrestlers (and it was all real), who would we choose to manage us?

Bobby Heenan or "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart Mr Perfect (circa 1992) or Ric Flair (circa Evolution)

  • TLC 2016 Review

We review the latest PPV event (at the time of recording).

  • Roadblock: End of the Line 2016 preview

This was recorded before Roadblock, so we take a look at the event card.

S1E37 - The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast – Episode 37

Episode 37 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast.

Welcome to episode 37 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast. This week is something a little different.

A review of WCW - May 2000

Yes, we're covering WCW's final year, starting from May 2000. Each recap episode will cover a month of WCW. For our own piece of mind we're only watching Nitro and the PPV events as they happen. Any more and our brains might dissolve.

Gasp and be amazed at the multiple WCW World Heavyweight title changes! Be aghast at the thought of David Arquette being the champ. Or Jeff Jarrett, come to think of it. And then Ric Flair again. Perhaps even Kevin Nash. And repeat ad nauseam.

Honestly, it was a very bad year for WCW.

S1E36 - The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast – Episode 36

Episode 36 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast.

Episode 36 of the Iron Man Podcast arrives, and we discussed the following:

  • News

This weeks news. Including: UK WWE trials; Royal Rumble updates; Kurt Angle Watch; WWE Network indies; Women's wrestling tournaments; Broken Matt Hardy and the ping pong match that is the WWE Raw Women's Championship scene.

  • TLC 206 preview

We discuss the card for this year's TLC event.

  • 205 Live - Episode 1

How does the first episode of cruiserweight show 205 Live stack up? We give our thoughts.

  • Fatally Flawed Way - Bald Wrestlers

This weeks' fantasy match is a slight departure from the norm. We throw 8 men into the ring from all eras of wrestling - and in this instance, all bald - and figure out who would win the match.

  • Overrated or Underrated - The Big Boss Man

Was Ray Traylor overrated or underrated in the ring?

  • Management Choice

Who would you rather be managed by? The Jackal or Paul Ellering?

S1E35 - The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast – Episode 35

Episode 35 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast.

Episode 35 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast. Can you believe we've been going for that long already? Still plenty to come!

On this week's show:

  • NXT Takeover: Toronto review

A review of the Toronto NXT card. Spoiler: It was rather good.

  • Survivor Series 2016 review

Obviously, a review of this year's Survivor Series. Much better card all round this year, and the Goldberg/Lesnar outcome was quite a shock.

  • News

Yes, the news is relegated to third spot this week. Topics include: UFC's Conor McGregor; could AJ Styles' next feud be with The Undertaker?; does Goldberg's return open the door for Kurt Angle? And a bit of Sweet Bertha Faye, why not.

  • ICW Fear and Loathing IX

The Real Deal has recently subbed to ICW's On Demand streaming service. He offers his thoughts on their recent SSE Hydro Arena, Glasgow show. It's worth it just for Johemian Rhapsody.

  • ECW: The Untold Story

Not so much an untold story, more a cheap plug for ECW content on the Network. Still, a solid 45 minutes of entertaining banter.

  • Main Event Jobber: Survivor Series 1991: The Undertaker vs Hulk Hogan

The fake Hogan in the front row is your only reason for watching this turgid title tussle.

S1E34 - The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast – Episode 34

Episode 34 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast.

Welcome to another exciting episode of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast. Your weekly dose of wrestling news and discussion is here. This week is a Survivor Series special. So... what could we possibly talk about?

  • Survivor Series 1987

We go back to the very beginning of the Survivor Series with the 1987 PPV. No matter what you might think, it's still explained better than WCW''s Texas Death Match rules.

  • Survivor Series 1993

Fallen Angel and Real Deal review the Four Doinks match from the 1993 event. Seriously, it's awful.

  • Survivor Series 1997

Old Man Joey covers the 1997 card. It's mostly ignored these days because of the Montreal Screwjob finish, but was the undercard worth seeing?

  • Survivor Series 2003

The Fallen Angel reviews the 2003 Survivor Series.

  • Survivor Series 2008

The Real Deal rounds off the show with his review of the 2008 event.

S1E33 - The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast – Episode 33

Episode 33 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast.

This week's episode is something a bit different. The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast crew went to the NEC in Birmingham on 09 November to watch Smackdown Live.

This episode covers the journey to the arena and our thoughts about the show on the drive home. And yes, they did have James Ellsworth T-Shirts in stock. No, we didn't buy one. We did however each buy a BootyO's lunch box. Because we at the Iron Man podcast have a mental age of seven.

We didn't pretend to attack each other with the lunch boxes on the walk back to the car either. Honest.

Driving To Smackdown Live

What we'd like to see from tonight's card, some Smackdown-related wrestling news, and

Driving From Smackdown Live

Our thoughts of the show, the card and the performers who we got to see.

S1E32 - The Iron Man Wrestling Podcast – Episode 32

Episode 32 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast.

Welcome to episode 32 of the Iron Man Wrestling Podcast. What have we got for you this week?

  • News

In this week's news: "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey; Wrestlemania 33; Hulk Hogan; Donald Trump's past involvement in wrestling; Lanny Poffo discussing the feud Macho Man wanted to have; and The Undertaker is set to appear at Smackdown 900.

  • Hell in a Cell 2016 review

A review of the Hell in a Cell 2016 card, and ratings for each match.

  • Survivor Series 2016 preview

We look ahead to the Thanksgiving tradition that is the Survivor Series. The Real Deal was very excited to find out that there will be a few classic Survivor Series elimination matches this year.

  • Theme Song of the Week

A new feature where we pick a favourite entrance theme song. The first week's choices reflect almost every era.

  • Wrestling Manager of Choice

Another quick feature to round up the show. If we were wrestlers, who would we pick to be our manager?
